Fruit Tasting

In Year 3 we have been working on a project called 'Handa's Surprise'. Part of the objectives of the work has been to teach the students how to describe something in English.
We brought in all different types of fruits (thank you to the parents for your collaboration).
Using all of our senses,  firstly we looked at the fruit and say what we could see. Secondly we touched and squeezed the fruit and described what we felt. Thirdly, we smelled the fruit and described what we could smell. Then we tasted the fruit and described its flavour (some were very sour!)
Finally we chewed and ate the fruits and described its texture.
We also played an 'eyes closed' game and had to guess the citrus fruit. The activity was so much fun and the students really practiced a lot of English in a practical context.
